Problem Statement
For this project we made rough estimates about how much money you would pay with the given amount of money your parents make per year. We each created fake students and then put them on a spreadsheet. Each student was responsible for creating two fake student profile, and we then shared our spreadsheets with our partners and other adults on College Family Night which was organized by Rah-Ben and Michelle.
Process
For this project I had the opportunity to work with Evelyn. We decided to create two students who are drastically different economic wise just to see the changes between both of them. It was interesting to see the difference between how much financial aid each student received and this was overall helpful for me because it gave me an idea of how much I would have to pay based on looking at other fake student profiles and looking for the fake student that represents my situation the best. After we created fake student we had to plug in their information into a calculator that is on every college website. We looked at CSU's, UC's, and privates and had to figure out how much money they would have to pay. After we finished that, we then prepared for our actual exhibition and we were able to share the work with our parents and show them our first math mini project this year. It was very beneficial not only for us but for our parents because it gave all of us a better sense of how much we will need to pay. .
Other People's Process
Everyone basically had the same process since we were all in charge of creating two student profiles. I know that we all kind of encountered the same problems which was just verifying that the data was accurate. It was also difficult because when we were putting in our information it asked about taxes and we didn't really know anything about that. It was also difficult because at times because if you mess up once during the college calculator, it screws everything up. Overall it was difficult in times but I think that it was an overall fun mini project.

Self Assessment
Overall I feel like I did very well on this assignment. I grew in the area of working with others because during this project I had to work with someone that had a hard time understanding what we were doing. I basically had to teach and tell her what to do if I needed her help, because I didn't want to do this all by myself. In my opinion I would give myself an A because I really pushed myself and learned a lot about college along the way.
